May He protect us — the mighty Lord Narasiṃha, whose claws, each a thunderbolt, are sharper than the splitting of the mountain-like foreheads of the mad elephantine foes; whose far-spread claws tear enemies from afar; who dispels darkness and is contemplated in tranquil minds by the many blessed.
