अनुगालवु चिंतॆ जीवकॆ मनवु
anugālavu ciṃtè jīvakè manavu
The mindʼs worry for the soul never ceases,

Verse 2 — श्रीरंगनोळ् मॆच्चुव तनक

श्रीरंगनोळ् मॆच्चुव तनक
śrīraṃganol̤ mèccuva tanaka
until it finds its rest in Śrī Ranga.

Verse 3 — सतियिद्दरु चिंतॆ, सतियिल्लद चिंतॆ

सतियिद्दरु चिंतॆ, सतियिल्लद चिंतॆ
satiyiddaru ciṃtè, satiyillada ciṃtè
To have a wife is worry; to have none is worry;

Verse 4 — मतिहीन सतियु आदरु चिंतॆ

मतिहीन सतियु आदरु चिंतॆ
matihīna satiyu ādaru ciṃtè
and a foolish wife, too, is worry.

pṛthviyòl̤agè sati kaḍu cèlvèyādarè
If the wife be the fairest on earth,
