Verse 2 — मनोबुद्ध्यहंकारचित्तानि नाहं

I am not the mind, the intellect, the ego, or the memory;
Verse 3 — न च श्रोत्रजिह्वे न च घ्राणनेत्रे ।
न च श्रोत्रजिह्वे न च घ्राणनेत्रे ।
na ca śrotrajihve na ca ghrāṇanetre |
nor the ears and tongue, nor the nose and eyes;
Verse 4 — न च व्योमभूमिर्न तेजो न वायुः
न च व्योमभूमिर्न तेजो न वायुः
na ca vyomabhūmirna tejo na vāyuḥ
nor space, earth, fire, or air —

Verse 6 — न च प्राणसंज्ञो न वै पञ्चवायुः
न च प्राणसंज्ञो न वै पञ्चवायुः
na ca prāṇasaṃjño na vai pañcavāyuḥ
I am not the vital breath, nor the five vital airs;
Verse 7 — न वा सप्तधातुर्न वा पञ्चकोशः ।
न वा सप्तधातुर्न वा पञ्चकोशः ।
na vā saptadhāturna vā pañcakośaḥ |
nor the seven bodily constituents, nor the five sheaths;
Verse 8 — न वाक्पाणिपादं न चोपस्थपायू
न वाक्पाणिपादं न चोपस्थपायू
na vākpāṇipādaṃ na copasthapāyū
nor speech, hands, feet, or the organs of generation and excretion —

Verse 10 — न मे द्वेषरागौ न मे लोभमोहौ
न मे द्वेषरागौ न मे लोभमोहौ
na me dveṣarāgau na me lobhamohau
I have neither aversion nor attachment, neither greed nor delusion;
Verse 11 — मदो नैव मे नैव मात्सर्यभावः ।
मदो नैव मे नैव मात्सर्यभावः ।
mado naiva me naiva mātsaryabhāvaḥ |
no pride, and not the least sense of envy;
Verse 12 — न धर्मो न चार्थो न कामो न मोक्षः
न धर्मो न चार्थो न कामो न मोक्षः
na dharmo na cārtho na kāmo na mokṣaḥ
I am beyond dharma, wealth, desire, and even liberation —
Verse 13 — चिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम्

Verse 14 — न पुण्यं न पापं न सौख्यं न दुःखं
न पुण्यं न पापं न सौख्यं न दुःखं
na puṇyaṃ na pāpaṃ na saukhyaṃ na duḥkhaṃ
Neither merit nor sin, neither pleasure nor pain;
Verse 15 — न मन्त्रो न तीर्थो न वेदा न यज्ञः ।
न मन्त्रो न तीर्थो न वेदा न यज्ञः ।
na mantro na tīrtho na vedā na yajñaḥ |
neither sacred formula, holy place, Veda, nor sacrifice;
Verse 16 — अहं भोजनं नैव भोज्यं न भोक्ता
अहं भोजनं नैव भोज्यं न भोक्ता
ahaṃ bhojanaṃ naiva bhojyaṃ na bhoktā
I am neither the act of eating, nor the food, nor the eater —
Verse 17 — चिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम्
चिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम्
cidānandarūpaḥ śivo'haṃ śivo'ham
I am the very form of consciousness and bliss; I am Śiva, I am Śiva.
Verse 18 — न मे मृत्युशङ्का न मे जातिभेदः
न मे मृत्युशङ्का न मे जातिभेदः
na me mṛtyuśaṅkā na me jātibhedaḥ
I have no fear of death, and no distinction of birth or class;
Verse 19 — पिता नैव मे नैव माता न जन्म ।
पिता नैव मे नैव माता न जन्म ।
pitā naiva me naiva mātā na janma |
I have no father, no mother, and no birth;
Verse 20 — न बन्धुर्न मित्रं गुरुर्नैव शिष्यः
न बन्धुर्न मित्रं गुरुर्नैव शिष्यः
na bandhurna mitraṃ gururnaiva śiṣyaḥ
no kinsman or friend, no teacher and no disciple —

unattached, neither bound nor liberated, and beyond all measure —
