May they protect us - those (nails) which are like individual thunderbolts, more powerful in splitting the temple-like skulls of the mighty elephants of Indra's enemy (Hiranyakashipu)...
The beautiful nails of the glorious Lion-faced Lord (Narasimha), which tore apart the enemy, dispelled the darkness far away, and are meditated upon by those of great fortune with peaceful and expansive minds.
O Lord of Lakshmi! You alone are the master who cannot be fully comprehended from all directions, O You who have assumed the form of the dancer (Narasimha), having gone thus by others (who remain) unborn...
May He protect us - He whose body was surrounded by a cage of unbearable flames of anger, who displayed His nails to all the gods, and who excavated (Hiranyakashipu) from within.
Verse 7 — ॥
May the holy dust particles from the radiant lotus feet of Sri Ananda Tirtha (Madhvacharya), the world-teacher, who is most devoted to the feet of Lord Vishnu and supreme in excellent qualities, purify us.
He whose wisdom-display alone destroys the supreme mountain-like pride of the king of debaters through the five doors (senses), is the noble lion among ascetics through his own doctrinal teachings.
Whose eager devotion, victorious with unrestrained tumultuous speed, grows through constant service; the crest-jewels of the wise-souled ones whose darkness of ignorance is dispelled by self-knowledge...
The divine remembrance of Vishnu's feet is sufficient for humans to attain liberation. Indeed, liberation flows from your two lotus feet for those whose heads are bathed in those (Vishnu's) feet.
Of those qualities which remove the hindrances of birth, disease, and limitations, and which grant freedom from suffering; which are the foremost bestowers, the givers of the eternal flood of consciousness and bliss...
I bow to the lotus seat of the feet of the Lord of the life-breath of Brahmanas, the God of gods, giver of pure great knowledge, the pure sustainer of beings, praised by the kings, ever prospering.
He who desires to reveal the path of knowledge to this world polluted by the impurities of Kali Yuga, is worshipped by the Moon, Indra, Rudra, the Sun, Shesha, and the leaders of the Maruts.
I take refuge in that Lord of life-breath, accompanied by the knowledgeable followers of spiritual wisdom, ever established in pure sattva, the glorious primordial true guru, dear to the son of the Wind (Hanuman).
Bhima, who fills all the space of the worlds with rays of his own luster, bearing in his arm - which is like the trunk of a rising sun adorned with armlets - a mace fierce as rising lightning...
I bow to that radiant one, who by the playful movements of his eyebrows destroyed all the dense army of enemy heroes, the most excellent, your elder brother (Bhima), chief among the prime riders of the Wind-god's son.
Having bowed down, prostrate with your minds purified by devotion to Maruti (Hanuman), who gives knowledge and wisdom, who moves like a newly risen cloud...
May he who rejects duality, who removes afflictions, who constructed the great bridge (to Lanka), the protector who rose up, the savior of the distressed, who came to bow, the life-giver to Janaki (Sita), be yours.
I worship Vishnu, the God of gods, the sole Lord of the universe, the fearlessness of the world, eternal, of peaceful form, beloved of Sri, the treasure-house of all virtues, far from the defects of the three gunas.
Dark as a blue cloud, Rama the great bestower of boons, with body adorned by the Kaustubha gem, wearing yellow garments, Vishnu who grants all desires and wealth to those who bow.
sarvāntarātmānamānādimīśaṁ sadāśivaṁ śarvamumādhavaṁ ca | sarvajñamajñānatamisranāśaṁ sarvaiśvaryōpētamaśēṣahētum || 9 ||
The inner Self of all, the beginningless Lord, ever-auspicious Shiva, Sharva (destroyer), lord of Uma, the omniscient destroyer of the darkness of ignorance, endowed with all sovereignty, the cause of everything.
He who has the radiance of lightning, who tore apart the enemy elephants, who playfully like an elephant destroyed the enemy's elephant tusks, who split the enemies into two with the pestle...
I know no reality greater than Krishna, beautiful with yellow garments and fresh garlands, bearing the pride of exceedingly charming youth, with restless eyes in a face like a fresh beautiful moon.
The abode of Sri, with feet red as new sprouts, the lord of life-breath, Vayu the lord of the gods' life-breath, world-teacher, giver of all goals, propagator of dharma.
He who is verily Brahma, first born as Hanuman the son of Vayu, then as Bhima, attains the third (incarnation as) Madhva, the sacrificial priest of Shambhu (Shiva). I take refuge in that primordial teacher.
Because of being exceedingly superior to Vishnu (in devoted service), possessing all qualities, being the best among all souls, being the refuge of all, may he who is multiplied by many virtues be always remembered.
He who is bound by both the glories of Brahma and sovereignty, renowned for both doer and deed - may that pure-souled one with pure devotion worship at the feet of Vishnu.
May Vayu, the sun dispelling the darkness of evil disputants, radiant with the splendor of his own doctrine's refuge, be seen all around by those knowers of truth and partakers of liberation, who destroy the cities (of enemies).
Without whose knowledge there is indeed no attainment of the supreme goal, nor any other existence - I bow to that Vayu, worthy of worship, free from blame, a bee at the lotus feet of the divine guru, and the bee itself.
Even now, may he make this honored world whole and peaceful through his own doctrines. Through sole devotion to Hari's lotus feet, what is truly unfavorable to him?
Thus ends the Vayu Stuti composed by Sri Trivikrama Panditacharya.
Verse 42 — ॥
|| śrīkr̥ṣṇārpaṇamastu ||
May this be an offering to Lord Sri Krishna.
