Initially an Advaitin, he challenged Sri Madhva to a debate that lasted 7–8 days, after which he accepted Dvaita philosophy and became his disciple. His son Narayana Panditacharya composed the famous Madhvavijaya, the biography of Sri Madhvacharya.
