oṃ jātavedase sunavāma soma marātīyato nidahāti vedaḥ |
sa naḥ parṣadati durgāṇi viśvā nāveva sindhuṃ duritā'tyagniḥ

Let us press soma for Jātavedas (Agni), knower of all beings, who burns down those who hate us; may that fire carry us across all difficulties, as a boat over the sea, and beyond every peril.

தாமக்நிவர்ணாம் தபஸா ஜ்வலந்தீம் வைரோசநீம் கர்மபலேஷு ஜுஷ்டாம் ।
துர்காம் தேவீம் ஶரணமஹம் ப்ரபத்யே ஸுதரஸி தரஸே நமஃ

tāmagnivarṇāṃ tapasā jvalantīṃ vairocanīṃ karmaphaleṣu juṣṭām |
durgāṃ devīṃ śaraṇamahaṃ prapadye sutarasi tarase namaḥ

I take refuge in that Goddess Durgā — fire-hued, blazing with tapas, effulgent, sought by those who long for the fruits of their deeds. O skilful ferry across danger, salutations to you for safe passage.

Verse 4 — அக்நே த்வம் பாரயா நவ்யோ அஸ்மாந்த்ஸ்வஸ்திபிரதி…

அக்நே த்வம் பாரயா நவ்யோ அஸ்மாந்த்ஸ்வஸ்திபிரதி துர்காணி விஶ்வா ।
பூஶ்ச ப்ரு'த்வீ பஹுலா ந உர்வீ பவா தோகாய தநயாய ஶம்யோஃ

agne tvaṃ pārayā navyo asmānthsvastibhirati durgāṇi viśvā |
pūśca pṛthvī bahulā na urvī bhavā tokāya tanayāya śaṃyoḥ

O Agni, ever-renewing and worthy of praise, carry us across all difficulties by your blessings; may our earth be broad and abundant, and may there be peace and well-being for our children and their offspring.

விஶ்வாநி நோ துர்கஹா ஜாதவேதஃ ஸிந்துந்ந நாவா துரிதாऽதிபர்ஷி ।
அக்நே அத்ரிவந்மநஸா க்ரு'ணாநோऽஸ்மாகம் போத்யவிதா தநூநாம்

viśvāni no durgahā jātavedaḥ sindhunna nāvā duritā'tiparṣi |
agne atrivanmanasā gṛṇāno'smākaṃ bodhyavitā tanūnām

O Jātavedas, destroyer of difficulties, carry us over every danger as a boat over the sea; O Agni, praised with a heart like the sage Atri’s, awaken as the protector of our bodies.

Verse 6 — ப்ரு'தநா ஜிதம் ஸஹமாநமுக்ரமக்நிம் ஹுவேம…

ப்ரு'தநா ஜிதம் ஸஹமாநமுக்ரமக்நிம் ஹுவேம பரமாத்ஸதஸ்தாத் ।
ஸ நஃ பர்ஷததி துர்காணி விஶ்வா க்ஷாமத்தேவோ அதி துரிதாத்யக்நிஃ

pṛtanā jitaṃ sahamānamugramagniṃ huvema paramāthsadhasthāt |
sa naḥ parṣadati durgāṇi viśvā kṣāmaddevo ati duritātyagniḥ

From the highest abode we invoke Agni — victorious in battle, all-enduring, fierce; may that resplendent god carry us across all difficulties, over the parched wastes, and beyond every evil.

Verse 7 — ப்ரத்நோஷி கமீட்யோ அத்வரேஷு ஸநாச்ச ஹோதா நவ்யஶ்ச…

ப்ரத்நோஷி கமீட்யோ அத்வரேஷு ஸநாச்ச ஹோதா நவ்யஶ்ச ஸத்ஸி ।
ஸ்வாஞ்சாக்நே தநுவம் பிப்ரயஸ்வாஸ்மப்யம் ச ஸௌபகமாயஜஸ்வ

pratnoṣi kamīḍyo adhvareṣu sanācca hotā navyaśca sathsi |
svāñcāgne tanuvaṃ piprayasvāsmabhyaṃ ca saubhagamāyajasva

You kindle, O adorable one, the ancient sacred fire at the rites; as both the timeless and the ever-new priest you take your seat; O Agni, gladden your own being and win for us all good fortune.

Verse 8 — கோபிர்ஜுஷ்டமயுஜோ நிஷிக்தந்தவேந்த்ர…

கோபிர்ஜுஷ்டமயுஜோ நிஷிக்தந்தவேந்த்ர விஷ்ணோரநுஸம்சரேம ।
நாகஸ்ய ப்ரு'ஷ்டமபி ஸம்வஸாநோ வைஷ்ணவீம் லோக இஹ மாதயந்தாம்

gobhirjuṣṭamayujo niṣiktantavendra viṣṇoranusaṃcarema |
nākasya pṛṣṭhamabhi saṃvasāno vaiṣṇavīṃ loka iha mādayantām

May we, O Indra, ever follow that supreme abode of Viṣṇu, rich with blessings and offerings; dwelling near the summit of heaven, may the devotees here rejoice in the world of Viṣṇu.

ௐ காத்யாயநாய வித்மஹே கந்யகுமாரி தீமஹி ।
தந்நோ துர்கிஃ ப்ரசோதயாத்

oṃ kātyāyanāya vidmahe kanyakumāri dhīmahi |
tanno durgiḥ pracodayāt

We know Kātyāyanī, we meditate upon the Virgin Goddess (Kanyākumārī); may that Durgā impel us onward. (the Durgā Gāyatrī)
