బాగిలను తేరేదు స్ēవేయను కోడో హరియే

bāgilanu teredu sēveyanu koḍo hariye

Verse 1 — బాగిలను తే̀రే̀దు సేవే̀యను కో̀డో̀ హరియే̀

bāgilanu tèrèdu sevèyanu kòḍò hariyè

Open the door and let me serve You, O Hari!

Verse 2 — కూగిదరు ధ్వని కేళలిల్లవే నరహరియే

కూగిదరు ధ్వని కేళలిల్లవే నరహరియే

kūgidaru dhvani kel̤alillave narahariye

I called out — did You not hear my voice, O Narahari?

Verse 3 — పరమపదదో̀ళగే̀ విషధరన తల్పదలి నీ

when the king of elephants, in distress, cried ‘O Primeval Source!’

kaḍu kopadiṃ khal̤anu khaḍgavanu hiḍidu

When the wicked one, in fierce anger, seized his sword

ninnòḍèya èllihanèṃdu nuḍiye

and demanded ‘Where is your Lord?’ —

dṛḍha bhakutiyali śiśuvu biḍadè ninnanu bhajisè

as the child, in firm devotion, unceasingly worshipped You,
