ರಾಮ ನಾಮ ಪಾಯಸಕ್ಕೆ

ರಾಮ ನಾಮ ಪಾಯಸಕ್ಕೆ

rāma nāma pāyasakkè

For the sweet pāyasa of Rāma’s name,

Verse 2 — ಕೃಷ್ಣ ನಾಮ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ

ಕೃಷ್ಣ ನಾಮ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ

kṛṣṇa nāma sakkarè

Kṛṣṇa’s name is the sugar;

Verse 3 — ವಿಠ್ಠಲ ನಾಮ ತುಪ್ಪವ ಸೇರಿಸಿ

ವಿಠ್ಠಲ ನಾಮ ತುಪ್ಪವ ಸೇರಿಸಿ

viṭhṭhala nāma tuppava serisi

add the ghee of Viṭhala’s name,

Verse 4 — ಬಾಯಿ ಚಪ್ಪರಿಸಿರೋ

bāyi capparisiro

and relish it, smacking your lips!

grind it on the millstone of dispassion,

summānè sajjigè tègèdu

sift out the fine semolina with ease,

and gaily roll it into vermicelli.
