The world's sustenance, dissolution, and creation, its great powers, activity, manifestation, restraint, concealment, bondage, and release — all are empowered by a mere fragment of Her sidelong glance: that Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord (Ajita), by whose glance She is made mighty.

This whole host of gods — Brahmā, Śiva, Indra, the Sun, Yama, the Moon, and the rest — resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance, wins its conquest of the world: that inconceivable Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

Righteousness, wealth, desire, good understanding, and every other auspicious thing, the gods bring about resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance — She who is worthy of worship even by those to whom the worshipful bow; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

āśritya yānapi sametya na yāti duḥkhaṃ śrīḥ yatkaṭākṣabalavati ajitaṃ namāmi ||
Sages, freed of every fault by subduing the six passions, meditate on Viṣṇu resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance, and on reaching whom sorrow comes no more: that Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

Verse 5 — śeṣāhivairiśivaśakramanupradhāna…

āśritya viśvamakhilaṃ vidadhāti dhātā śrīḥ yatkaṭākṣabalavati ajitaṃ namāmi ||
The Creator, resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance, fashions this entire universe with its wondrous, vast works, marshalling Śeṣa, Garuḍa, Śiva, Indra, Manu, and the chief beings: that Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

Śiva, resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance, having first dissolved the whole creation along with Indra, the fierce-rayed Sun, the Moon, Yama, and the rest, dances forth with vast, manifest power: that Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

The lord of serpents (Śeṣa), whose feet are adored by Śiva and others, resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance, attained the great seat of being the couch for the Lord's lotus-feet — a state unattainable by other gods: that Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

Garuḍa, foe of serpents, of fierce strength, valor, and supreme swiftness, resting on a fraction of Her sidelong glance, won the office of being Viṣṇu's mount — a thing inconceivable to Indra and the host of gods: that Śrī; and I bow to the unconquered Lord, by whose glance She is made mighty.

Verse 9 — ānandatīrthamunisanmukhapaṃkajotthaṃ…

Whoever, enshrining Ajita within his own heart, devotedly recites this hymn — sprung from the lotus-mouth of the sage Ānanda Tīrtha, dear to the very hearts of Ramā and Hari, of supreme import — attains the grace desired by them both. (the author's signature / phalaśruti)
