A suḷādi is a rhythm-oriented Haridasa composition whose stanzas cycle through different talas — one of seven song-types systematised by Purandara Dasaru to actualise the tala system in performance. The seven suladi talas live on today as dhruva, mathya, rupaka, jhampa, triputa, atta and eka.
